Stop Costly Repairs Before They Start

Your driveway takes a beating from Long Island’s weather. Salt air, freeze-thaw cycles, and heavy rains all work against your asphalt every single day.

Seal coating creates a protective barrier that keeps water out of small cracks before they become big problems. You’re looking at extending your driveway’s life by 3-5 years with one application.

The difference is visible immediately. That fresh, dark appearance doesn’t just look better – it tells potential buyers that you maintain your property. And when your neighbors are dealing with cracked, faded driveways, yours stays protected and professional-looking.

Asphalt Sealing Company Copiague

We Know Long Island Asphalt

All Purpose Paving has been protecting driveways and parking lots across Long Island for years. We understand how coastal weather affects asphalt differently than inland areas.

You’re not getting a one-size-fits-all approach. We know when to recommend sealing based on your specific conditions, not just a sales calendar.

Our crew uses commercial-grade materials and professional equipment because we’ve learned that cutting corners on materials means callbacks and unhappy customers. Neither works for building a local business.

Here's Exactly What We Do

First, we clean your driveway completely. Oil stains, debris, vegetation growing in cracks – everything gets addressed before sealing. You can’t seal over problems and expect good results.

Next, we fill any cracks larger than a quarter-inch. Small cracks get sealed by the coating itself, but bigger ones need attention first or they’ll just reopen.

Then we apply the sealcoat using professional equipment that ensures even coverage. We’re not rolling it on with hardware store tools – this is commercial-grade application that creates a uniform protective layer.

The whole process typically takes 4-6 hours depending on your driveway size. You’ll need to stay off it for 24-48 hours while it cures, but then you’re protected for the next 2-3 years.

What You Get With Our Service

Every seal coating job includes thorough cleaning, crack filling for cracks over 1/4 inch, and two thin coats of commercial-grade sealer. We don’t skip steps to save time.

You get clear communication about timing. We’ll tell you exactly when you can walk on it, when you can drive on it, and what to expect during the curing process. No surprises.

We also handle the details that matter. Protecting your landscaping, keeping sealer off your garage door and sidewalks, and cleaning up completely when we’re done. Your property should look better when we leave, not like a construction zone.

Most driveways in our area need seal coating every 2-3 years, but it depends on traffic and exposure. If your driveway gets full sun all day or heavy use, you might need it every 2 years. Driveways with tree cover or light use can often go 3 years between applications. The key indicator is when water stops beading on the surface and starts soaking in – that’s when the protection is wearing off and it’s time to reseal.
Late spring through early fall works best – typically May through September. You need temperatures above 50 degrees for at least 24 hours after application, and no rain in the forecast for 24-48 hours. Summer is ideal because the sealer cures faster in warm weather, but we can work in shoulder seasons if conditions are right. We don’t recommend winter applications because cold temperatures prevent proper curing and adhesion.
You can walk on it after 4-6 hours in good weather, but wait 24-48 hours before driving on it. Hot weather speeds up curing, while cool or humid conditions slow it down. We’ll give you specific timing based on weather conditions during your job. Rushing this step can damage the seal and leave tire marks that won’t come out, so it’s worth waiting for full cure.
Seal coating fills hairline cracks and very small surface cracks, but anything larger than 1/4 inch needs separate crack filling first. The sealer isn’t thick enough to bridge bigger gaps – it will just sink in and leave the crack exposed. We include crack filling for larger cracks in our service because sealing over unfilled cracks is a waste of your money. The cracks will just reopen and let water in.
Cost depends on your driveway size, condition, and how much prep work is needed. Most residential driveways run between $200-600 for professional seal coating including crack filling and cleanup. Driveways needing extensive crack repair or oil stain treatment cost more. We provide free estimates so you know exactly what you’re paying before we start. Comparing prices, make sure you’re comparing the same scope of work – not all contractors include the same prep and materials.
Rain within the first 4-6 hours can damage fresh seal coating, washing away the sealer before it bonds properly. That’s why we check weather forecasts carefully before starting and won’t begin if rain is expected within 24 hours. If unexpected rain hits during the curing window, we’ll assess the damage and redo any affected areas at no charge. It’s better to reschedule than risk a poor result that won’t protect your driveway properly.
